Drawings of the Week #13

Sketch edition: studies and drawings in pencils and ink.

Drawings of the Week

There hasn't been a post in the series for a while Drawings of the Week, isn't it? Well, it is. The lack of time has hit me in recent months, but the good thing is that I tried to draw whenever possible. Today's post includes Sketches that I've done these past few months. I hope you like it and enjoy it! ;)

Simple and loose doodle done in pencil and then ink.
Study done in pencil.
Quick study of hands and proportion.
Ink pens drawing. This one was more to test the limits of patience with the details and hatches, haha.
This one I made my hand to train while detailing and practicing what I'm used to doing: faces. (I'm slowly trying to incorporate elements that I tend to draw little to be able to improve more, such as hands, feet, etc.).
Studies of hands, body, etc. In this last one I even wanted to play a little more, drawing the body without reference, to see what I need to improve in terms of proportions, anatomy, etc.
That was completely without reference. It would even give an interesting idea of a character, even. I'm thinking of improving his concept later on. I made this drawing while listening to an ICONIC lecture. I ended up doodling a lot, I can't stand it, hahaha... but that was the most interesting. That's cool to do, by the way. Let your imagination run wild and draw whatever comes to mind. It's also great for when you want to get bad ideas out of your head. Eventually you arrive at something interesting, slowly unleashing your creativity.
Studies of movement, female body, and facial expression.
Gestural drawing I quickly made of Lucario (Pokémon), based on a reference image of him because I liked the position.

As you can see, I stopped a bit with colored drawings and watercolor or digital paintings to focus on Sketches, study and improve elements that I still need to improve, especially anatomy, proportion, perspective, etc. Since I want to be Concept artist, I'll need to know a little bit of everything (or best of all, haha), right? I also confess that with the amount of things I am currently trying to solve, it has been difficult to keep up the pace, which is also, unfortunately, the reason for the decrease in posts and drawings lately. I hope to be able to return to the routine soon and post more drawings for you.

If you are looking to learn more, I recommend reading these two posts of mine: The best tips from ICONIC, where I summarized great tips from the speakers at this sensational conference and Tips for materials to start drawing, where I talk a little about the materials that I usually use and that may be useful for those who want to start the illustration journey.
