I caught a really annoying cold this week that almost knocked me down, hahaha, but I didn't stop drawing! I made some really crazy drawings this week — I like to explore different themes and test them in my style, you know. It's also great for letting go of your hand and taking out some ideas that get “stuck” in your head.
Let's go!
I started the week with a sketch of an elf (yes, I like elves, haha). Nothing very 100% worked out, just an idea that I really want to explore more in the future.
I decided to do a quick sketch on the iPad this time using my Wacom stylus and the Bamboo Paper app — I highly recommend it, in fact. This one was entirely designed and painted on the iPad, by the way. Since I miss training again digital painting I wanted to let go a bit:)
As I watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge last weekend, I decided to do a sketch inspired a bit by the theme, hahaha. In fact, I recommend the movie. I really liked it! Much better than the previous one... much better.
That was a very loose drawing. I highly recommend doing this from time to time, especially when you don't have much idea what you want to draw. Just draw anything, hahaha. It helps to let go and get bad ideas out of your head, frees up space, you know.
Another sketch following the same purpose.
As I explored bizarre themes this week, I decided to make a new fan art for a game that I really like, Alice: Madness Returns. This sketch is inspired by Alice's look in Hysteria Mode in the game. You will see the process of painting with colored pencils in the following photos:)
I always like to start by defining the colors of my skin and face and then move on to elements that are “above”, such as hair, necklace, etc., in addition to polishing everything little by little. It goes from each one:)
Finished drawing.
I decided to close the week with a cuter cartoon, hahaha. Process to follow.
Finished drawing.
And those were this week's drawings, guys. I wish I had done more, explored more things, but it really was complicated because of the cold, hahaha. I'm improving, at least, and I should be 100% next week. More drawings next week \o/ good week to you!
