Drawings of the Week #37

Special third week of Inktober.

And here comes the drawings from the third week of Inktober, guys!

I drew more in the sketchbook myself, not least because I love using white to give that interesting finish, haha. Some drawings I forgot to take a picture of the sketch, hahaha — too much to do, sorry.

Sketch from the 15th, Mysterious. A woman who wears a mask that consumes it, transforms it, takes hold of it. The circles symbolize this transformation.
I opted for some color pencils for the skin and mouth, and used Tombow pens for the hair and eye.
A chubby pirate cat for the 16th, Fat.
I used colored pencils on the eye only and ink pens on the rest. In this one, I used white to make the eye shine (as I usually do for most of them) and also to bring the action of the composition “forward”, separating it from the background, as you can see in the image by the contours of the cat and the box in which it is resting its paw.
Quick drawing on the 17th, Graceful.
Day 18, Filthy.
Day 19, Cloud. An angel sleeping in the clouds. I explored a lot this week, drawings only in black and white, contrasting with the background of the kraft paper. It was a lot of fun.
Day 20, Deep. I hadn't drawn fish in a long time, so I decided to make a carp as if I were swimming between the woman's hair and the water. You will see, through the use of colors, in the next images :)
When I do the hair, I like to mark the darker areas to separate them from the lights that I do later with a pencil or white pen. In this case, pencils.
The idea was basically to create a contrast - since orange is complementary to blue - in addition to making the hair look as if it were water.
First sketch of the 21st, Furious.
In this one I wanted to play again a bit with my white canson paper, but it didn't work out very well because what I wanted to do didn't work, hahaha. The background was supposed to be with white pen, but I noticed that unfortunately black backgrounds on Tombow don't work properly with the white pen that I have. Some drawings worked on kraft paper because I was already tracing white around and details about black were simple and basic. My white pen works much better with my Pigma Micron pens. Something that I know now. Lesson learned XD
I decided to do another sketch then in Kraft itself.
It wasn't as wonderful as I would like it to be. I made a very simple composition too, but it's worth it, hahaha. What made me happiest, including both, is that it was the first time I drew a werewolf and at that point I really liked the result :)
And to finish the drawings for the week, I decided to paint the cover of the sketchbook I made last week using the Tombow pens that I own, hahaha. It wasn't sensational, not least because I don't have so many colors like that, but it was worth training and playing :)

And here ends the third week of Inktober. There's more to come next week, guys!
