Hello, everyone! 46th edition of the Drawings of the Week and last of the year! :D
2017 was remarkable for me, first because I finally returned to the drawings with everything and second because of all the ideas and plans that came along the way. I was able to keep projects in art that I wouldn't have imagined I could do, taking into account all the rush with work — Inktober, for example, hahaha. Other than that, I evolved and improved a lot in art, finally being able to find my own style and materials that I love to use today!
I made three drawings this week alone, but each one with great care and which gave an idea for other personal projects that I intend to do in 2018.
Sketch of a wolf that I made as a gift to a friend who had her birthday on 27/12. The idea is based on something she wanted for a tattoo, so I made just the snout with some embellishments, such as a wolf mask.
The glitter effect on the nose, for those who are wondering, was done by passing the pencil over the entire area and then erasing with an eraser the area you wanted to make shiny. You can also leave the part unpainted and only paint it around, but I like to do it that way sometimes because it creates a softer and more natural effect.
Finished drawing. I decided to do everything in pencil in case my friend wanted me to change something, but she liked it a lot so that's right, haha.
This sketch was born from an idea that I intend to transform into a story in the course of 2018.
It was made on kraft paper and I used ink and white pen for the details.
I like to use the white pen to create contrast with the paper and to give light to the areas subject to it. Also, I like to make a white outline around the entire “foreground” area, or rather, the area I want people to focus on. The main part of the drawing as a whole.
Then I made a few more traces of light on the dragon as well, because I saw that there was a little bit missing, hehe.
Finished drawing. The background, sometimes, I like to make it very simple, since they are elements that are behind the main area of the piece. In the case of this cartoon, by the way, I decided that I will first write the story and then I will work better on the plot characters. It will be like a concept art exercise, in addition to being able to take the opportunity to write too, since I really like it:)
Third and last cartoon of the week (and of the year).
Also on Kraft paper and in ink and white pen (in my sketchbook of Myolito). In fact, I highly recommend Miolito sketchbooks. Saint Wonderful.
The idea is an “elf fairy” dancing in the forest.
I like to work the contours and shadows little by little on the ink.
The wing is a good example of this. After making the contours, I gradually darken the areas with the greatest shadow interference. My line is really messy, hahaha, I love to make loose lines, as long as they make sense, of course XD
I also make some dots in white pen in some areas to reinforce the brightness, taking advantage of the contrast with the paper. That's why I love Kraft <3
Grass, wood, trees, etc. is generally always the most laborious part, because I like to use hatches or smooth circles to form the areas (using a Pigma Micron 005, also taking turns with 01), so it takes a long time, hahaha. But it's definitely worth it.
Those “little plants” around me were inspired by the vegetation of the Morrowind region (from the Elder Scrolls franchise). I love the franchise so there's always something about the games that inspires me, hahaha.
I really like to make the details in the background messy, as if they were blurry because they're farther away from the whole action:)
Finished drawing <3
Don't worry, I didn't forget. Yes, there is a gift and it will be for the whole year!
Every month I will make a calendar and a planner illustrated with some of my art from that month starting next year (2018) for all who already subscribe or for those who subscribe to my newsletter. The January one is ready and here are some images for you to see what it looks like:
January Wallpaper/18.
January Planner/18.
Those who subscribe or those who subscribe now will receive the newsletter starting tomorrow and I will leave the download link in the newsletters for the entire month, of course - remembering that I send weekly emails, usually once a week. So if you miss the first shipment, rest assured, you will receive it in the next newsletter you receive. The new ones will be sent starting the last week of each month to all subscribers.
