Drawings of the Week #52

Doodles in ink and pastel pencils; gold drawings, yay!

The week yielded several doodles in ink and just one in pastel pencils — all because of the excitement with new material, especially my new gold pen from UniPosca, hahaha.

I love testing new materials! It's that joy, you know, of trying something new, exciting. Learn, make mistakes, do it again... and discover ways to adhere to the unexpected in what already exists, in what you already do.

Well, shall we go to the drawings, then? :)

Quick doodle to warm up and start the week using the usual material:)
Sketch that I later decided to paint with pastel pencils.
Totally loose too:) I used white for some lighting; beige, pink, and brown for skin tones; brown in my hair; and purple for the necklace and clothes.
A drawing that ended up not turning out the way I wanted, but it was worth the study, haha. I used a pencil case and white pastel pencils.
I doodle that I did on my other kraft paper sketchbook. I used blood pencils and ink pens. In that one, I tested a new pen that I always heard very well spoken: the Sakura Gelly Roll. Very good, it will certainly serve as a replacement for me when my UniPoSCA runs out... although, by custom, I may like UniPoSCA better - since I needed to buy it, I decided to try this one and it was worth it, I definitely recommend it. Both Uniposca and this new one leave very similar lines. The cool thing about this Sakura is that the tip is the same as a regular pen, you know?
And here I decided to test my new pen: UniPoSCA Gold PC-1M. It has a 0.7 mm tip and is very thin. You have to be a little careful because she's very watery, you know? But it pays off, haha. Since I use kraft in 120g/m² (sketchbooks) and 200g/m² (loose paper), so it holds up well.
It creates a super cool effect. I figured it wouldn't look so cool on kraft paper, but I was wrong. It's soft but shiny at the right spot. Below is a video for you to see the best effect.
Another doodle to play with the new pen.
Finished drawing. Below, another video for you to see the effect!
I was so excited that I decided to “gold” even an old drawing, hahaha. This was the cover I made for my other kraft paper sketchbook <3

I hope you enjoyed today's post, guys!

There will be more next week ;)
