And let's move on to the seventh post of the Designs of the Week!
It's been great for me to have created this series for the blog (and the blog too, haha), because, even with the rush, I always draw something and this helps me to improve my art even more. I threw myself completely into the watercolor, the ink... I dropped the pencil drawing a bit, since it was what I always trained and it was great to be able to get out of the ordinary to finally see what I could do and the evolution I had. Ah! I finally finished the Mew From post #5That I owed it to you and I made some more really cool art and I'll tell you the details soon!
So, shall we go to the drawings?
I started redoing the Mew sketch (as I've been doing with some other drawings to train), and outlined it with blue — using watercolor pencils — to create a “base” for the drawing. Yes, Mew is pink, but since the reference was Mew inside a bubble and water, blue predominates as the main color.
I erased the lines a bit with pencil so as not to affect later when painting with watercolor and I applied the very light blue pencil to create the base color of the Mew. You will also see that I planned, making pencil marks, where to place the color, so that I could then create the light effect on the bubble.
At the same time that I paint the areas with the watercolor pencil, I also apply the wet brush to blend the areas to make it easier to work later... and so I calculate on the eye even the more I need to darken to create the light and shadow effects I wanted... especially because in hand drawings we paint lightly and then darken - which makes it easier to avoid errors later... unless you want to make some effect that involves the use of the color white on top, haha. I had even marked some areas where I wanted to make small bubbles, however, I ended up giving up after doing them... because the effect would be better if I used a white pen on top, which I don't have yet (I need to buy, haha).
I used a blue-green pencil in the area I wanted to make clearer (to create the light effect on the bubble), and I left the contours and color of the Mew very soft underneath to create the impression that it is actually inside the bubble.
Mew finished. Well, almost, because I still want to do that white bubble effect that I mentioned above and didn't do because I don't have the T__T pen yet
This drawing was made completely without reference. Funny how it popped into my head to draw a crooked nose, haha. Do you know when you draw and then things come out? Well that, haha. I made the sketch in pencil first and then outlined it with ink.
I then decided to paint with colored pencils to give a better finish:)
Today I did a very cute dragon sketch, hehe!
As it was getting very interesting, I decided that it would end in Nanking, so I outlined and made the shadows.
I also drew some clouds around the way I usually do it, hehe. I think I'll do more drawings using ink this month because of #Inktober!
For those who don't know, I have one Store at Society6 where I post some of my drawings to sell art prints and everything else. If you are interested, just sign in! Those days include a few more and also some compositions I made from some older drawings, like the one below:
NOTE: those who are interested but don't want to buy there because of the prices (because it's all in dollars, unfortunately, but they send it anywhere, including Brazil), just let me know that I'll make a quote and send it to you by post office.
That's it for today! I hope you enjoyed it. There will be more next week\ o/
