Drawings of the Week #8

Several drawings and more Pokémon!

Drawings of the Week
Illustration

Most of the drawings in this post weren't made this week, to tell the truth... I put together the ones I made since the last post in the series. The rush of life isn't easy no! I'm in the process of making some changes at work that have taken up my time and that's why I've been a bit missing from here, unfortunately. The only thing done this week was the super cute Axew that illustrates this post and you'll see it at the end, hahaha. Sorry, readers. Hopefully I can get back to normal soon, haha.

‍ Scribble in pencil that I then decided to outline with ink. And I added some details straight through the Nanking as well. Nothing complex, just really training:)
‍ That was a doodle that I really liked and that I intend to use as a concept for a next painting for sure. And I even want to add more details - such as her arm/hand holding her hair (you can see that vaguely in the drawing, haha).
Another doodle. That one was even without reference. I like to make drawings without reference from time to time to train and see what I can or need to improve.
‍ Some more ideas.
‍ Quick sketch in ink and colored pencils for training.
‍ Pencil/ink sketch. This cartoon was more about training patience, hahaha.
The finished drawing. I ended up adding a few more details to the hair and crown.
‍ Axew sketch I made last week.
Details of the painting I did this week. The Axew colors themselves were good, but I wasn't 100% happy, because the greens are not 100% in his perfect color, hahahaha. It was great for training color blending and everything else, even though it's not perfect the way I'd like it to be. I used both watercolor pencils (in Axew) and brush (all the rest of the paint), although I used more brush than pencils. I like to use the pencil sometimes for details that I'm not yet confident of risking on the brush, although I've been improving a lot in this regard and I'm even preferring to use the brush. I actually improvised brushstrokes on the details of the grass. One on top of the other, making it lighter or darker in some areas. It was really fun!
I was very happy as the painting progressed. I've grown so much since I started venturing into watercolor! I'm even risking more — as was the case with the grass.
‍ Finished painting. I even added some details directly to the brush, without prior sketching, because I thought it would give an interesting volume effect to the composition - as is the case of the leaves close to the fruit. I think I could have added more around, but I decided to leave it as a softer detail, haha.

I hope you enjoyed today's post! Later, guys!
