Last week the game's new expansion was announced in a super cool cinematic trailer Elder Scrolls Online, Elsweyr. In it, a new character — a super cute Khajiit — is introduced. Everyone fell in love with her - including me, hahaha - and, ever since I saw her, I wanted to make a fan art. Follow the trailer below:

I used as a reference a scene from the trailer in which she makes that cute surprise face. It's quite reminiscent of that Pikachu meme too, isn't it? Hahaha.

To my surprise, they published the art on the official Elder Scrolls Online pages of Twitter and Tumblr! My dream is to appear on their official website, haha. I was super happy that they published it and even more so to have seen people liking, commenting, and sharing! Always nice to have your art appreciated :) it was great! Some even commented that I was able to capture her expression well, which makes me very happy because expression is something that I feel I need to practice more.
You can check out the time-lapse of the painting there on my Instagram too by clicking here.
In fact, I realized that I'm getting a certain taste for doing art all in shades of gray and then painting, instead of what I used to do by painting directly. I understand now why it's cool to do it that way. You can define the values and contrasts of the paint much better before applying color. I am now combining the two methods: creating everything in shades of gray and then using a base color to paint. I did that in one of my last paintings, Linger, and it worked out super well!

I also want to maintain my direct color style, even as a practice and because I also do traditional arts. It's always good to keep up to date on what you do best, hehe. I need to go back to doing more traditional arts, because at the moment it's really complicated.

The advantage of digital painting is that you have all your “materials” there in one place, ready to be used. When we have little time to practice because of the hustle and bustle of life, work, etc., it pays off. Of course I will never leave traditional art aside, that's how I started and how I grew as an artist and whenever I can I will do some to stay active in both styles;)
NOTE: I'm making some modifications to the site layout to give it an updated one. You may have noticed it from the home page of Blog And from the post here, isn't it? Haha. I'm opting for something more Clean and less width 100%. We'll see XD
And that's it for today, guys. Have a great week!
