This week I decided to stick more to the pencil to be able to train anatomy, animal drawings, etc. I drew a little less than I drew last week, but I still kept up the pace, hehe. I finally changed my cell phone, in fact, so the photos will be better and more defined now, hahaha.
Let's get to the drawings!
Drawing of a wolf. Since I draw very few animals, I still need to train more, so I decided to do a sketch to train. Forms are not yet perfect, but it is by training hard that we achieve perfection.
In that one, I decided to draw an “elf mermaid”. I took the opportunity to train some anatomy, and lately I've been better defining hair design, as you can see, too, In the last edition (with tips too).
That was without reference. I'm also trying to control some of my excitement when shading, hahaha. I love making stronger shadows! It's very good for creating contrasts, but I tend to exaggerate sometimes, you know? Then it's difficult after adjusting... especially in this case that the paper in this sketchbook is recycled, very thin... if you use a lot of force when erasing, it can tear and so on: p
Who never started a drawing and left it halfway through to throw the first stone, hahaha. The day I did this sketch I was very tired. I had a busy day but a lot of fun. Meeting with a potential new client and I also went to the park with my boyfriend to go for a walk. Oh, that was great. I really needed some time Off :) as for the drawing, maybe I'll come back to it in the future and redo it with a slightly more defined idea.
I was supposed to be a cute girl, but then I thought “why not?” hahaha. I took several photos of the process in this case that you will see shortly thereafter.
The idea is to create a Medusa that is transforming. The hairs that gradually become snakes.
The snake was the part that gave me the most trouble to do. Lots of details and everything else, hehe, but it was worth it.
I ended up changing the sketch a bit. The initial idea was two snake heads, but I decided to go with just one and leave it around the girl instead of another snake on the top of her head, hehe.
For those who are wondering about the blank paper and scrawled on the side (haha): I use it to support my hand when drawing to avoid blurring both my hand and the drawing.
Since I decided to make a dark background, I redid the outlines of the entire drawing to darken as well and create more contrast.
I was very happy with the snake, hahaha. I've drawn snakes a few times in the past, but it had been a long time. It was great for practicing and improving.
Finally finished.
And that's it for today, guys. Next week, as always, there's more! ;)
