I am very happy with the results I am getting in my recent drawings. The Inktober challenge also helped to awaken this greater interest in ink pens and discover something more “mine”. Working with Kraft paper is so wonderful! I love being able to play with the shadows and the white pen to create a special sparkle. I also like to, from time to time, mix it all with colored pencils, haha.
This week I was left alone in Nankin and took the opportunity to create drawings without any reference to see where I am and what I can still improve.
Details of the first sketch I did this week.
I like to plan in pencil what I'm going to do, but I don't go into too much detail either. I like to use direct ink to detail better, such as the shadows of the trunks, hair, etc. This has helped me to get better used to the dye and remove that fear of making mistakes, you know?
Finished drawing.
Details from the second sketch.
Here is also a game with the nankin: a submerged world and a woman an aquatic being, hehe.
Third sketch.
In this one, I decided to make a full-length character to get out of the ordinary, since I really like to draw only faces, haha. A test also to see how I am in terms of anatomy.
In the previous designs, I was using stablo pen (because my Pigma Micron had run out, haha). In this one I already started using the Microns again because they had finally arrived <3
I was very happy with the result of this one too. Anatomy, of course, isn't perfect, but it's already an incredible step and it made me realize how much I've improved since I started drawing heavily (since 2013).
And that's it for today. Yes, I know... there weren't as many cartoons as in the last few weeks, haha, but it would be difficult right, complicated. Still, I'm very happy and I'm thinking of buying Kraft paper blocks. Just work with him for a while, hahaha. The results of last month and this month, in addition to the comments from the staff, made me realize that I am close to something more my own... I want to focus on improving even more and developing this style :)
