With each passing day and with each study, new drawing, I realize that art exists for a purpose. Each of us has a special purpose with everything we build and do. It's not easy to discover a vocation, gift... call it what you want, but there's something profound in everything we create and/or seek to build.
Art is manifested in different ways for each of us. For me, it's drawing — for a long time I thought it was through graphic design, but little by little I realize how much happier drawing and learning by drawing. For others it may manifest as a desire to cure others through medicine, or perhaps someone who wants to be a lawyer and defend the indefensible; and so on.
What I mean is that art is not just about drawing, painting... art is about bringing out the best in yourself through a purpose, through what may be your main focus. Your vocation. Art is what you love and do best.
This week I decided to paint that Lucien Lachance sketch that I had done and posted here in the edition #78 of the Drawings of the Week. A friend of mine, who is also an Elder Scrolls fan, commented that I should share my art with a group of TES fans that we both follow on Facebook.
At first I was apprehensive, because I have experienced annoying situations of people commenting on nonsense in my arts (if you follow me here, you must have read about some of my frustrations about it, haha). And again, I don't care when people come to give me constructive criticism, but most of the time, unfortunately, they're just frustrated people who want to pour frustrations with their own art on me and don't add anything constructive, haha.
Anyway, I decided to share with the group and, to my surprise (especially considering that it's a “silly” group focused on TES memes, haha), my art was very well received (around 283 likes and 30 comments) and was even liked by the actor who voices Lucien in the game, Wes Johnson, and who also participates in the group.
I wanted to share this with you because for me it was a very important moment and it marks another step in the evolution that I had in art. You know that I have been practicing for 5 years now and it was only in that year that I began to reap the fruits of all this hard work - which, in fact, is still going on.
As I always say here, the journey is long and arduous... but it's so worth knowing that you're striving for a purpose, a focus, an idea. Something that gradually becomes bigger than you. I just have to thank God and everyone who gave me and still gives me all that support to keep moving forward. Thank you very much <3

PS: By the way, I'm posting my Procreate time-lapses on my YouTube channel and also on Vimeo, hehe.

Some art I like to do straight in color - such as Cyndyan or Lucy's fan art, among others - others, like this one and Lucien Lachance, I like to work in shades of gray and then paint on top. It depends a lot on what I want to do, you know? I like to play with a little bit of everything and learn more and more little by little, because of this I don't have a single style, but several, haha.

And that's it for today, guys. I hope you enjoyed the post! o/
