Drawings of the Week #94

A pencil sketch, finalization of a digital painting, and a summary of my progress.

This week I made a doodle in the sketchbook that I take with me when I need to go out - which doesn't happen very often, hahaha, not least because I'm more at home working, but since I had to go out to solve some issues, I took the opportunity to doodle a bit. I'm having a busy few weeks, a lot of work, which is great. As I said, I'm going to travel at the end of the year too, so it's something else I'm planning on, haha.

In addition to this doodle, I took the opportunity to finish a digital painting that I started in November and then I didn't have time to finish. As I said in previous posts, I have some digital illustrations pending completion both because of the rush with Inktober in October and because of lack of time due to work and other issues. It's part of it, the important thing is to continue the journey :)

I noticed that I really like to detail clothes, dresses, etc. For this painting, as you will see later in the time-lapse here in the post, I started the main sketch in shades of gray, painted some areas on top and finished in colors.
Finished painting and time-lapse just below.

I hope you enjoyed it and I apologize again for the rush. I would like to be drawing more per week, but these last few months have been very complicated. No, I will not give up on my dream and I will always do my best to draw something every week until everything normalizes.

I learned my lesson in 2016, you know? I don't know if I even commented on this at the time, but that year was very difficult for me and I almost gave up on my dream of working with art and being Concept Artist. I fell into depression because of the problems I was experiencing in my life and if it weren't for my faith in God and the support I had from my mother and boyfriend, I don't even know if I would have gotten out of that doldrums.

I am commenting more on this now because I know that each of you has experienced tense situations that possibly almost made you give up your focus - or maybe even made you give up. I have experienced (still sometimes) experienced certain conflicting situations that one day I may discuss in greater depth with you, I don't know. I just know that I wouldn't be firm today if it weren't for my faith in God.

I also know that I'm not the same woman I was years ago. As difficult as the moments I've been through in my life have been/are, I'm not going to give up my focus. Not anymore. Every difficult situation I went through made me a stronger, more balanced, more focused person.

At least, I'm happy that most of the situations today because I'm drawing less are no longer due to depression or the high level of stress I experienced in 2016: today it's because I'm working hard both on my current career as a Designer and on my focus and dream of becoming a Concept Artist.

I am extremely happy with my progress this year, both in art itself and in Design - in addition, of course, to parcel What a wonderful thing I had the opportunity to do for the actor who voices Sotha Sil in the game Elder Scrolls Online. I wouldn't have reached that point if I hadn't stopped what I was going through and focused on something better, bigger than myself. I wouldn't be here today, happy to be seeking the fulfillment of that dream through hard work in recent years.

Staying strong is the only way to achieve your dreams. Don't give up, dear reader. Don't give up and keep drawing.
