Tips

I think everyone should already know how much I love Elder Scrolls, haha. This week, I decided to make a fan art of one of Daedric Princes of the game, Nocturnal — for those who don't know, I added the links and just click to find out more. If I were to explain, I would get carried away and this post would make my addiction very visible, in addition to evading purpose, hahaha).

Let's go to the drawings XD

Nocturnal's initial sketch - the idea is not to do exactly as it is portrayed in the games (not least because, to be honest, there is no good reference), but to create your own vision of the character.
After I do the initial sketch, I reinforce and polish the drawing, making it sharper and more detailed.
It's as if they were layers, but in the hand, hahaha.
The difference is that in traditional art we already start with light layers and then refine... in digital, we generally start with medium tones and then refine the art - add more shadows or lights, etc.
Drawing... finished. Well, semi-finished. I still intend to make something more in the future, perhaps with the symbol of Nightingales, I'm still not sure.
A new sketch. This time I went with ink and colored pencils later.
Practically the same process, but this time it was: refining the sketch, making it as clean as possible and then contouring with ink. I usually use 005 to make fine lines, and then refine certain areas of the drawing with a stronger ink (03, in this case).
Here you can already see what I explained in the previous photo: reinforcing some contours.
I generally like to start with the face. I use pink and brown. In this case, I used a fade as well to better blend the colors.
On my hair, the same procedure I always do: darker areas, areas that I leave unpainted to create the shine effect, and so on. In that case I used two shades of blue.
Oh yes... and I also decided to detail her outfit more.
Another tip: sometimes, when I'm wondering what colors I want to use in the design, I like to use this site: http://colorsupplyyy.com/app/ — it's great to help create an interesting palette and is suitable for many other jobs you want to do, especially if you're a designer like me;)
I decided to make a background in the same style as the drawing I made in Last week.
Finished drawing:)
A quick sketch I made in the sketchbook to let go of my hand. In that case, I didn't do a previous pencil sketch, I went straight to the ink. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's great to do this once in a while to train.
A study based on a photo.
I especially loved the result of this study that I did. In this one, I wanted to study more values, understand the details... next time, I want to make a colored version, for sure :)

And that's it for today. I hope you enjoyed the tips and that you will come back more often here in my little corner ;)

Great week for you!
