Drawings of the Week #33

As I mentioned in previous post Last week, this week I probably wouldn't draw as much because I would have to finish some projects due to deadlines and everything else. And, yes, that really happened, hahaha. But I took the opportunity yesterday to draw as much as I could, after all, I don't want to stop these posts! ;)

This commitment that I created for myself and also to document my progress and to be able to help others with tips on what I have been learning throughout the process has helped me a lot. I hope it's also helping those who follow, hahaha... but the fact is that drawing has always made me really better. That's why I always say that whoever wants to improve needs to draw a lot (at least one sketch a day). It's not overnight, of course. I've been training a lot myself since 2013 - and it could be even better if I didn't have so many problems last year that I ended up drawing almost nothing. Well, last year was not easy... on the other hand, it was worth it to have given a Pause, because I probably needed a fresh start...

And here I go on to expand on another topic! Enough, hahaha. Let's get to the drawings! :p

I decided to make a little dragon because I hadn't drawn cute animals in a long time, hahaha.
I always start with light strokes, to adjust the details, and then outline again with a stronger pencil to detail even more and adjust the shadows.
Finished drawing:)
It's a shame that I ended up not taking a picture of the entire process of this one. It was really cool! Generally I always start a drawing from the head (a circle) and adjust the rest accordingly - it also applies to when I'm going to make the character's body. The cool thing about this one is that I started with a larger circle and adjusted the contours, which helped create the lines on the cheeks. The eyes are inspired by the elves from Elder Scrolls (more from Skyrim, actually), who have eyes drawn upwards, haha.
I usually doodle. I was even thinking about doing something else, but I ended up leaving it that way because it was interesting, hahaha.
A pose study, using the app I mentioned on Issue #29 of the Drawings of the Week.

And that's it, guys. I apologize for not drawing so much, but I hope the tips helped you.

NOTE: and those sketches closed another sketchbook, hahaha. I think my next handmade sketchbook will be from Miolito. I'm researching to buy a cool item and do an analysis here for you :)

Have a great week ^__^
