I took the opportunity to explore a bit the use of the gold pen together with pastel pencils on kraft paper, finished that digital drawing that I started a few weeks ago and made another sketch to let go of my hand a little. I would rush to work all the time, but I'm doing my best to keep the drawings, of course! <3
Pastel pencil drawing plus details in gold Uniposca pen.
I even thought about keeping her hair whiter, as I did with the Sotha Sil and that other drawing, Purple Forest, but the stronger gray shadows seem to me to have given a better definition to this one:)
For the skin, as always, I use shades of pink, white and brown. Sometimes I use beige too, it depends on the color I want to achieve. Depending on the pose, I use a reference as well — I used that one. The study helps to better define shadows, especially details of muscles and bones, so I always recommend using references for poses and details that you are not used to doing.
Finished drawing.
A doodle to let go of. Made with a pencil (initial sketch), 6B pencil (to reinforce shadows) and white pastel pencil (lighting).
I decided to take some time to finish this digital drawing in Procreate.
Finished drawing. I decided to keep the lines messy and try something closer to what I usually do in the traditional way to test, instead of leaving it more finalized as I did with Mermaid. Below is a time-lapse of Procreate <3:)
And that's it for today, guys. There will be more next week!
